What template is the best starting point for mapping Physical Plant systems (water, electric, sewage)?

I have a linked spreadsheet of a list of printers, and I have an if/else rule that shows a icon based on the printer type of each item in list.It works for the most of my entries, but if the printer type is plotter, I don’t get any icon.

I keep trying to import a Miro board (vector PDF), but it keeps failing. It is under 400MB (only about 9MB), but fails, and does not provide an error description as to what may have happened.

Hi everyone,I'm looking to create custom rack shapes that adhere to standard RU sizes for my audio equipment setup. Specifically, I want to include various audio products such as power amplifiers, audio sources, wireless microphones, audio patch panels, and audio connectors. Some of these products use half-size rack server units, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to design a rack that accommodates both full-size and half-size equipment. My goals are:Standard RU Sizes: Ensure the rack conforms to standard RU sizes. Custom Shapes: Design custom shapes that fit my specific audio products. Mixed Sizes: Include both full-size and half-size rack units in the design.Questions:What tools or software do you recommend for designing custom rack shapes? Are there any best practices or guidelines for integrating half-size rack units with standard full-size units? Any tips or resources for ensuring proper ventilation and accessibility in a custom rack setup? Thanks in advance for your advice an

Today I’m unable to export my diagram to Visio.I only get an error message, without any hint what could be possible wrong.Do I use an invalid shape, or connection, maybe a style?I tried it on Firefox and Edge, too, but failed. (I guess it’s generated on the backend)Last week I was able to export, based on that success I got the permission from my boss to use Lucid Chart for creating the diagram. It was a main “selling point”. If I cannot export to Visio, I will need to redraw it with a different tool…. however I love Luid Chart and usually recommend it to everyone….

Looking at our data and diagrams, and the Account/Credentials for AWS.The Inventory/Details shows FSX (shows zero imported/seen by Lucid) [screencap 1]. When in the ‘Edit Resources’ for the same account/credentials, FSX isnt a selectable option (doesnt even show up to be check-boxed) [screencap 2]. Where are my FSX’s?**I double-checked the role, and its got the default ‘ReadOnlyAccess’ AWS Role applied to it and no permission boundary. FSX is listed in the Role detail [screencap 3].

Hi,How can I have an executive heading a department in my org chart. Note that an executive can head multiple departments. The executive currently has “executive” as its current department.thanks,Jack

I want to create a complicated network diagram for a Supply Chain Network where i will draw in all the possible links between elements on the diagram below. When i run the model in excel most of these paths will have nothing on it (a cell will be zero). I want to not just link the values on the paths to the cells but i want to turn off the paths if the value is 0. Is there a way to create this logic in Lucidchart - where it will modify the diagram based on the cell values?

I have created a chart with linked data to a Google Sheet.  I now need the source file for the chart to be in Excel instead of Google Sheets.  Is there a way to easily migrate the data from Google Sheets to Excel and maintain the links?  Or do I have to start over completely from scratch using Excel?

I have imported the ERD data but when I drag the tables into the plot area there are no connections being created between the various keys.

Shapes are disappearing when I export to PNG with transparent background (300 dpi). How do I ensure the shapes export?

Recently I’ve noticed that when I copy an object and then paste, Lucid Chart only pastes the text.  Sometimes, I get the expected result, with a duplicate getting created.  Sometimes, nothing happens at all. I have tested on Mac with Chrome and Safari.  Same behavior in both browsers.

👋Hello community members! Are you an Enterprise user? Do you wish you could import Excel data from Office 365? Do you currently have a OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, or Group Drive account? 🎉Good News! We’ve been working to enable 2-way data syncing between Lucidchart and Excel and are looking for volunteers to test this new functionality.  If you’re interested in participating, reply or send me a DM!  I will reach out to help you get onboarded to this beta feature.

I’m looking for help on how to better manage the scaling or how the chart scales when going to print. I am currently working on marking locations on a to-scale site map jpeg and no matter how large I scale the image it shrinks to be barely legible. Is there a way to manage the settings or change the view to see the printable area?

I’m really confused that in some files I can remove an object by pressing delete key, but in some files I can ‘t do it but only by right-clicking to delete. Is there any way to switch it, I assume a status for it. BTW, when I have to right click an object, I can see “shift delete” item, but I cannot find the right key on macos--safari, I have tried backtrace, del, fn+backtrace, fn+del, cmd+backtrace, shift+backtrace, shift + del, shit+fn+del, …., all the combinations. It’s really awful that I have to use right-click for such simple action as delete!

We want to do chart archiveIs there any batch export function to Visio with the shared folder structure?

How do I create both horizontal and vertical swimlanes such as in this image: https://d2slcw3kip6qmk.cloudfront.net/marketing/blog/2020Q2/process-pro-tips/presentation-mode-in-lucidchart.png

Is it possible to colour code a cell in Google Sheets that corresponds to the colour of the Org Chart box in Lucid? E.g. I colour code a cell Green, and the corresponding person in the Lucid Org Chart is also green.

Please tell me how to turn off these little bubbles/pills on the lines that all of sudden showed up in the last few weeks.

I’m getting really annoyed by the flip-flops of the keyboard shortcut changes, that can happen on any page reload while working on a diagram. Sometimes I’m forced to use control+D for “duplicate”, sometimes both control+D and command+D work well. and it seems that command+D works majority of the time. Same happen to other shortcuts like copy/paste etc. How can I get a stable set of keyboard shortcuts that do not change with the Lucid page loads?

What chart systems are best to utilize?

Currently conditional formatting is universal across a document.  But sometimes you want to show data one way on one tab, and another way on another tab.  Think current & future states.  On current state I might want to show a “sunset” application as yellow.  On future state I might want to show it as red.  But currently this is impossible since you cannot set the formatting specific to separate tabs.

We have our users in two groups, edit (licensed users) and view (unlicensed users). View users are limited to comment only on our diagrams, and until recently were able to export diagrams from Lucid as a PNG or PDF. Since the interface changes, our view users are unable to export the diagrams. The option is still available, however when they click export > PNG or PDF, nothing happens. The export page does not pop up.

I have an org chart that I update frequently and export to PDF every other week. All of a sudden this week nothing happens when I click export → PDF. I can print it and save it as a pdf, but it doesn’t give me the option to crop to content like the export function does. None of the export options currently work for me. I’ve had this chart for more than 6 months and there haven’t been any significant changes since it was created.
