I am looking for a more granular "locking" capability for a basic rectangular shape (or shapes in general).  Visio provided access to shape "details".  The master shape could be configured this way and individual instances of the shape could be reconfigured using nifty lock settings (lock position lock height lock width lock aspect ratio etc.).  This was quite useful when building out IDEF models where I needed to maintain a consistent height for the function (or activity) blocks but needed flexibility to stretch the width of the rectangle to accommodate a longer function name.  The picture below illustrates the problem... A series of rectangular shapes are plopped down and I start renaming them.  As I expand the function name text (in the red shape) you see the shape height automatically increasing and everything starts to blow up... the control arrows (top) mechanisms (bottom) as well as the function number which is group with the larger rectangular shape.&nb

Here’s my setup:I’ve created a BPMN flow chart within swimlanes. I’ve got data linked via a live Google Sheet that has pain points/ Problems at each step of the process and this is linked to respective shape steps of the BPMN and created a Smart Container where each card is a Problem Added a field ‘Occurring at’ to the smart container to get the steps that these Problem occur at. This is applied to it’s children cards contained within I also want to add a similar field that tells me which swimlane these steps belong to (which department these problem steps are in essentially Eg. Sales, Production, etc)I’m facing 2 issues:The Occurring at field displays shape labels inconsistently. This is the formula I’ve used: =FILTER(DESCENDANTS(page), x => AND(((x."Problem") = THIS."Problem"), (LABEL(x) != LABEL(THIS)))) where ‘Problem’ is the primary field of my linked DB The issue is that sometimes it: Sometimes displays the label of the card itself (i.e., the Problem), with an error but not

Because the Cloud Agent is currently in beta, some functionality is still being developed. Below are some layout tips and user workarounds to optimize your generated diagrams: Scale & scope The agent performs best when given a clear scope. Helping the agent focus on specific targets ensures faster, highly accurate data retrieval within optimal context windows.Tip: Prompt with high specificity. Use exact tags, accounts, and regions rather than relying on generic prompts. Optimizing diagram layouts Like any complex model, the agent is thorough by design — it maps every resource and relationship you ask for. Rendering a broad architecture all at once can produce a dense layout that's hard to read at a glance.Tip: Keep your diagrams clean and readable from the start:Narrow the scope: Focus your initial prompt on a single region, VPC, or key application rather than your full environment. Use containers: Ask the agent to group resources into collapsible containers so you can expand only

Says it works with CSV, but only SQL and Salesforce options are available

My team and I are looking for some help in getting our Visio designs imported into Lucid more seamlessly. Right now it seems like every time we import, certain shapes are missing descriptions, connections are messed up, line spacing is off, little things like that.I also want to know if there is a way to if not correct the whole thing on import, at least a way to automate some of the line spacing, and certain settings to save some time and be able to convert more designs. Would love to hear any help, thank you!

If another user has shared a document with you, you will first need to accept their invitations to collaborate. You can do this by following the steps below:Accept through your email:Go to your email account and find an email from Lucidchart or Lucidspark. It should say something like: Subject: Lucidchart Context: You’re invited to the document “Document Name”...Once you find the email, open it and select the “Accept Invitation” button in the email. A new window will open containing the shared document to be viewed or edited. Accept through your Lucid Account:If a user has invited you to collaborate on a document via the email linked to your Lucid account you will receive a notification in your Lucid account. You can accept the invitation by navigating to the notification bell in the top-right corner of your main account page   Click on the notification bell to open your notification drop down list Select the notification with the corresponding user name and document name. For example:

I have ADO-linked parent cards in a timeline. After discussing with stakeholders, we agreed that we want to communicate completion status through a status code and not through effort or the completion of child work items. I want to turn the progress bars off on my timelines. But I cannot find a way to do that through the Azure DevOps settings panel. It is a radio button to choose either child effort or number of work items, but there is no option for “none”. How can I turn them off?

I am connecting the Lucid MCP server to Claude (web) on an Individual Lucid plan. The connection authorises fine and basic tools work, but the diagram-creation tools never load. What I see: across several reconnects in one day, the connector exposes a different partial set of tools each time. Examples of what loads: document search, create folder, create share link, list thread comments, and (in one session) the add/edit/delete shape tools. What never loads in any session: the “create-diagram-from-specification” tool and the “convert-to-diagram” tool.The odd part: diagram creation worked fine yesterday. I built two diagrams successfully. Today the diagram tools are gone, and disconnect/reconnect does not bring them back.Already tried:Disconnect and reconnect (three times). Each time a different partial tool set appears; the diagram builders never do. Confirmed this is an Individual plan, so no admin MCP toggle or org-level scope gate applies.Questions:Were diagram-creation use cases re-

Last few days keep getting this error message. Plenty of space. Have Tried Chrome. Can anyone advise?

I have been using Lucidchart for 3 days.  I want to mark a group on a flowchart, copy the group to a new page, number the pages and then mark the group on the main flow chart referring to the page number.  That way, I can provide a flowchart with miniscule writing and attach and print pages with legible print.  Is there a guide for all of the steps of numbering the pages, copyin by group and marking the groups on the flowchart?  Thx.

Whenever I copy and paste any text with subscripts, it automatically turns it to code, with a popup asking me, “Not code? Convert to text block”. However, when I convert it back to a text block, it removes the subscripts. Very annoying. Paste as plain also does not work. Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Hello!I’m importing an SVG icon from Azure pack and when upscaling it does react more like a bitmap, not a vector image. I’ve tried multiple different browsers, but result is the same. Is this fixable?

I want to make a button in my diagram that will toggle a layer so someone viewing it can click on a shape to see more information then click it again to hide it and keep the diagram clean. Is it only possible to make a button show or hide it or can I configure it in a way where I can click it repeatedly and have it alternate between showing and hiding the layer?

Hi,I have an issue, where, deleting items from Lucidspark does not reduce the total size of the board itself. Is this expected behavior or is the board size being reported incorrectly?

I’m attempting to upload a SVG file created by matplotlib. The file checks as valid at various SVG validators. There is no error message, just upload failed. How do I figure out what is happening?

If you are subscribed to a premium account (Individual, Team, or Enterprise) you can backup and restore your Lucid documents via your account settings. Hi,I’ve generated a csv file that appears to be in the right format to import database data into a Lucidchart ERD.The import works, and I can display my ERD chart, and see the foreign key joins, but for fields in tables that are both Primary Keys and Foreign Keys, and I populate the constraintType column of my import csv file with:"PRIMARY KEY, FOREIGN KEY"the ERD chart only ever seems to show ‘FK’ in the Key column, and not ‘PK / FK’. I’ve tried widening the Key column just to check that the text hasn’t been truncated, but the column only seems to be populated with either FK or PK, and not PK / FK where the import file defines it. Any help or suggestions gratefully received. Paul

Want to adjust the commands on your mouse or trackpad? Check out the options below to see which one will best suit your needs! Each option is optimized for the device it is named after but all options can be used with any device. You can find the Navigation Mode settings in the View menu located in the menu bar at the top of the workspace in Lucidchart or in the “Board Settings” located under the More Menu in Lucidspark. Please note: If you are using a mouse and you would like your scroll wheel to pan rather than zoom use the Trackpad setting to achieve this. Then to zoom hold down the spacebar before scrolling. See below for more info on these settings: Trackpad: Mouse: Auto: Lucid automatically adjusts the setting (Mouse or Trackpad) to match the type of device that is detected.

After working on a board for hours, I added in what I thought was a Jira dashboard that could show all of my work items. When I tried to add it, the page froze and was unrecoverable. I refreshed the page and it gave me the following error on the page. I then followed all of the troubleshooting steps, but nothing fixed it.I get a TON of errors in my console, but nothing I can understand. My support pin is duJnYIYxAoc6HBlvrVljrZ3ANYltDtEJON216011269Can someone please help me recover this board? Or rollback that change?

I am a free user and I am unable to go back in previous copies, I have lost a days worth of work. PLEASSE HELP!

Hello, I spent a few hours drawing a diagram for a client last week, opened it up and went over it with my internal team and when I woke up this morning more than half of it was erased.  How can I recover this before my call tomorrow? Is there a support line I can contact? Please reach out when you can.

Hello, I logged into my Lucid Charts account today morning and I was presented with this screen. I cannot see any of my documents and no options to create a new document. Can you tell me why my Lucid Charts is not working? Is this a known issue or is it only affecting my account?

Good afternoon! We are currently on the Enterprise license and we noticed that once we change a lucidchart document’s status to one that we designate as “Locked” - for ex: “Completed” - the “Show Revision History” is no longer accessible.I’ve confirmed this is true at the editor and admin levels, even as the creator of the document. Is this by design? We were hoping that even though a document is locked, a user could still view the revision history for reference purposes.Thank you.

Some of my charts are missing. They disapeared when my annual subscription expired last year. I hoped this would be resolved on its own when I renewed my subscription, but unfortunately they are still gone.Could you please help me retrieve them. I have pdf exports on my computer, but don’t have editable original charts. At least two large diagrams are gone.

Until recently, I have been able to export my Lucidchart projects to PDF. Now when I try to do it, I get an error that tells me there’s not enough memory to export. How do I overcome this?
