Are you able to manually state what 'tier' members of staff should be. We have instances where different tiers/levels report into the same staff.

For example this picture I need Head of Development to be Tier 3 (not 2) even though the direct report is still into Tier 1. The child links of Head of Development should also be moved down to Tier 4 (not 3).

Hi Natalie

Thanks for posting! Unfortunately this is not possible with our current org chart functionality. However we're always looking for ways to improve. Would you mind adding your use case to the product feedback space? Suggestions submitted can be upvoted, and top voted ideas are passed directly to our product development team for their consideration.

Hello

Just to chime in that I need this exact functionality too (and I'm sure I'm not the only one as most organisations have direct reports that 'skip' tiers). I wanted to highlight that this feature is needed by many users if that will help the consideration process.

@Natalie what I have done as a workaround for the time being is create an employee in the area that should be 'skipped' and on the right hand menu deselect all information and choose the 'text only' style. This will leave an (almost) blank space which will look for the most part correct in terms of the reporting structure and move the employees to the correct tiers. Here's an example below - Hope that helps!

Thanks

Hi Peter thanks for continuing this thread. If you haven't already please add your thoughts to the product feedback area suggested in Tate's post. This is highly valuable for our development team to understand different use cases and how this would be important for your work. Thanks for sharing the great workaround too!

I've filled out the form posted by Tate but I wanted to add my voice here. I maintain our org chart and it looks bad when I show up higher in the org chart because I direct-report to someone without the typical two ranks between us. I should be able to manually push the tier down for certain positions (me in this case) and all of those who report to the pushed employee (me) should be automatically pushed down in the org chart accordingly.

Hi there thanks for continuing this thread sharing your feedback and elaborating on your case! We're grateful for the time you took and we'll review it with our development team.

Most organizations don't work in a perfect pyramid reporting structure and we're having the exact same issue as others above.

As an example there should be the ability to have a tier 5 employee report to a tier 2 employee directly. Without this ability in this  particular example it appears that the tier 5 employee is on the same professional level as tier 3 employees. It really makes the org. chart template unusable for most orgs.

I have logged this on the feature request page as well.

Hi Edwin. Great feedback — thanks for proactively sharing it with our Development Team. We want our org chart template to be useful for as many organizations as possible and this is how we get there.

If anyone else shares this experience and would like to pass on feedback you can do so through the link shared in the thread above.

We also need this feature as well. Submitted a feature request.

@min.lee Thanks for taking the time to share your request and use case with our development team! Please also feel free to share any additional context here. Thanks!

I need this as well! I've submitted a feature request and am following this post.

Thanks for joining @åsa c! We'll post any relevant information here - thanks for submitting your request!

+1.  Submitted request form.

@greg.varnell Thank you - we appreciate your feedback! Please post if there is anything else we can help you with.

Hi, is this feature available now?

Hi @theeveeyanraj4321 thanks for following up on this thread, and apologies for the confusion. In the past, we collected feedback on our products via a separate form, which is what was linked above. Now, in order to make requests more discoverable so others can upvote them and add their own context, we use the Product Feedback space of this community to collect feature requests and ideas.

If you have feedback, please first search the product feedback space (with the filter Topic Type = Idea) to see if it’s already been submitted. If so, please add any additional details you’d like and upvote the request - this consolidation helps to refine feedback and properly capture the popularity of the request.

If no one has submitted the idea yet, create one of your own and include as much detail as possible as described in this post: Feedback and Feature Requests | Community

We are actively working on updating existing posts like this one with this new process and appreciate your patience as we do so!

Is there any way in the forum to follow threads and thus be informed if you might provide a product update? We would love to have this feature as well!

Hi @luciduser_1234, yes! You can subscribe to notifications for any thread you’re interested in following. You can find step by step directions on how to do that here!

As far as I can tell, the idea was presented at least 5 years ago, and many people have been asking for the functionality, so why is there still no update?

Has this feature been implemented? We also need the functionality to adjust employee tiers so they can report to tiers that are not adjacent.

This looks like it was raised years ago, how has this not been added?

Thanks to all who have commented here! This is a great request and one we’ve seen consistently, so we will keep this high on our list of future considerations. Thanks again for taking the time to share context with us.

Any update?

Hi @trottler - at this time we don’t have an update to share, but this thread remains the best place to stay tuned to for an update!
