While Lucidchart does not directly support SmartDraw document imports (SDR), you can still import SmartDraw diagrams by exporting the document as a Visio file. 

Here’s how:

1. Export your Smartdraw document as a Visio file. In SmartDraw go to Home > Export > and choose VSDX. 
2. Import the Visio file into Lucidchart. Open Lucid.app, click + New > Lucidchart > Import > Visio and upload the VSDX or VSD file.

If the document fails to import, try importing the VSDX file from SmartDraw into Visio and export the file from Visio to attempt the import process again. The following steps are only necessary if steps 1 and 2 didn’t work: 

3. Open your document in Visio. Import your Smartdraw document into Visio by going to File > Open > Browse, then open your document. 
4. Reexport this document as a VSDX or VSD file. In the open document, export this file as a VSDX or VSD file by going to File > Save as > Choose a destination > Make sure the file is set to Visio Drawing > Save. 

5. Follow Step Two above and import the Visio file into Lucidchart. 

SmartDraw SDR files are not currently supported for import in Lucidchart, however, we are always looking for ways to improve our product. You can post a product request as an idea in the Lucid Community and these ideas will be shared with our Product Development team for consideration.
