I used the organization chart template in Lucidchart but I did not like the way it was layed out so I am trying to use the individual boxes and form my own connections, however I cannot get the shape to give me the connector dots to create a line.
Any help would be appreciated.

As a workaround you can drag a line shape from the standard shape library to add to your org chart.
Alternatively, you can draw a line from anywhere on the canvas by holding the L key on your keyboard then click and drag your cursor. This should allow you to add connector lines to any object.

If you're having trouble creating connector lines between shapes in Lucidchart, try these steps:
Enable Connection Points:
Switch to Connector Tool:
Unlock Shapes:
Check Snap-to-Grid or Snap-to-Object Settings:
Try a Different Shape Type:
These steps should allow you to create your own connectors and customize your layout in Lucidchart.
