Importing & exporting csv files for org charts without Enterprise level plan

I realise that when working with the standard plan you can't link a csv file and have it update the chart: it creates a new chart on a new page where you have to reapply conditional formatting etc.

I have created some data fields on a page with my org chart which I've used to drive some dynamic shapes (pie and bar charts). If I export the chart as a csv none of that goes with it and I lose it on the import again.

I can export the shape data instead which seems to capture everything but the csv file is a mess with no employee ID or supervisor ID columns to anchor it to (the data is in there but the column names are things like "text area 1" and what should be a column label "Emp ID" as the entry multiple times etc.

Is it correct that for this to work properly I can only do it with an Enterprise plan?

Hi Andrew thanks for posting in the Lucid Community. It sounds like you are using the 'Export as CSV' option in the org chart Context panel as shown in this section of our 'Create an org chart' Help Centre article. Is that correct?

If so: unfortunately it's expected that the CSV will only include the actual data of the org chart itself and not data fields associated with any other object on the same page. To clarify this is also the same for users with Enterprise level access. As you mentioned the CSV from the Shape Data CSV export option does include all data from the page but it is formatted specifically to work with our process diagram import feature .

However we're always looking for ways to improve Lucidchart and your feedback is the best way for us to do that. If you would like to see an export option like this would you mind adding your idea to our feature request form? Ideas submitted to this form are passed on to the product development team for their consideration.
