When i select the full page in a lucid chart, copy  it and paste into a confluence page or PowerPoint it pastes fine.
But if i select part of the lucidchart and then copy and paste it to a confluence page, it pastes as a link. I do not see any option to paste the picture.
How can i copy and paste part of a lucid chart into a confluence page or a word document?

Hi @rajesh

Great question! When copying and pasting part of a Lucidchart diagram into Confluence, Word, or PowerPoint, it may default to pasting as a link rather than an image. Here are a few ways to ensure it pastes as a picture instead:

Option 1: Use "Download Selection as Image"

  1. Select the portion of the diagram you want to copy.
  2. Right-click and choose "Download Selection as Image."
  3. Save the image as a PNG or JPG file.
  4. Insert or drag the saved image into Confluence, Word, or PowerPoint.

Option 2: Screenshot Approach (Quick Method)

  • If you need a fast workaround, you can take a screenshot (using Snipping Tool on Windows or Command + Shift + 4 on Mac) and paste it directly into Confluence or Word.

Option 3: Export as PNG and Crop

  1. FileDownload AsPNG (or JPG)
  2. Open the image and crop it to the section you need.
  3. Insert it into Confluence or your document.

These should help you achieve your desired result. I hope it helps!

Hi @rajesh

Directly copying and pasting parts of a Lucidchart diagram into Confluence, Word, or PowerPoint is not an officially supported feature. As a result, you may encounter inconsistencies in the pasted content.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Hi @rajesh, thank you for posting your question to the Lucid Community! Thank you @Ria S and @Humas1985 for your great insight here as well and helpful resources.

@rajesh Unfortunately, copy/pasting is will not result in the best experience as it is not formally supported. I would suggest utilizing the integrations we have available. Do you have the integrations set up in your account? I would recommend setting up the Confluence and Microsoft integrations that we have available, as shown in the Integrations Marketplace

Two specific resources that I think would be beneficial for what you are trying to do are the Integrate Lucid with Confluence Cloud article, and the Install Lucid add-ins for Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel article from the Help Center.

Please let me know if you have any questions about what is offered in this experience, or any questions about setting up the integrations.

Copy and pasting has always worked fine and allows for increased productivity.  Downloading into an image, especially when you only need a portion of the chart, OR doing the integration, especially when you only need a portion of the chart is VERY TIME CONSUMING!!! What used to take 2-3 seconds, now takes several minutes.  How about you give us cut and paste back and let us decide if we like it or not.
