Have several shapes in a lucid chart document. Exporting large selection of shapes as png with transparent background fails consistently

Prujspeed, it seems like you're having issues when attempting to export a large selection of shapes from your Lucidchart document as a PNG with a transparent background. Several factors could be contributing to the problem. One possibility is that the size and complexity of your selection are overwhelming Lucidchart's processing capabilities, particularly when it comes to rendering transparency. Large selections, intricate shapes, and numerous effects can strain the system. Additionally, your browser might be running low on memory, or browser extensions could be interfering with the export process. Network instability can also disrupt the export, especially for large files.

To troubleshoot this, begin by simplifying your selection. Try exporting smaller batches of shapes instead of the entire selection at once. If possible, reduce the complexity of your shapes and consider flattening overlapping shapes. Next, optimize your Lucidchart and browser environment. Refresh Lucidchart, clear your browser's cache and cookies, disable extensions, and try a different browser. Closing unnecessary tabs can also free up resources. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and check Lucidchart's status page for any reported issues. Verify that the "Transparent Background" option is selected in the export dialog and experiment with different resolution settings. As a test, try exporting in a different file format, such as SVG.

If it’s still happening, consider these workarounds. Export your shapes as an SVG file, which preserves vector information and transparency, and then use a vector graphics editor or online converter to convert it to a transparent PNG. As a last resort, you could take screenshots and use an image editor to remove the background, although this will result in a loss of quality.

Let us know if that works or if you’re still having this issue.
