How do you paste from another tab to your current mouse location?

Whenever I paste an object from one tab to another or from one document to another it's pasted to the exact coordinates it was at in the source document.  I see how this could be occasionally useful but most of the time I want it to paste where my cursor is at or at least somewhere in my current view.

Sometimes after pasting I'll use Ctrl-X to cut and paste it on the same page and in this case the paste works as expected.  It's sort of a workaround but is very clumsy.

Just curious if there was some trick I was missing.
