Hi all,

Simple use case of an org chart, that I guess 90% of the people do:

  1. Data sits in one Google sheet, that I imported and I created one org chart that works with ‘data refresh’. I can see the data in the ‘data’ panel on the left.

How can I create a second page, that should link to the same data?

  • When I copy over the org chart, the link breaks. I can only apply ‘replace dataset’ but this uploads the data from the Google Sheet and creates a new dataset on the data panel.
  • I achieve now to have multiple pages with an org chart that can use the ‘data refresh’ button, but I cannot replicate this again.

Can you support?

Hi @omar, thank you for contacting Lucid Community!

Currently, Lucidchart doesn’t support directly linking the same dataset to multiple pages in a way that would automatically update all copies of the org chart when you refresh the data. When you copy the org chart to another page, the link to the original data breaks. As you’ve mentioned, you can only use the ‘replace dataset’ option, but that creates a new dataset on the data panel, which is not ideal if you want to keep the same dataset linked across multiple pages.

To streamline this process, you’ll need to manually replace the dataset on each page whenever you want the org chart to be updated. While this does work for updating the data on different pages, it’s not as automatic as having a single link to the same dataset across multiple pages.

For more detailed instructions, you can check out the Create an Org Chart page in the Lucidchart Help Center.
