If you find that you are unable to edit a field on a Jira Card in Lucid for something that is editable in Jira, you may need to add the field to the issue screen. Every issue in Jira has a screen that maps out and identifies how each Jira field is visualized in Lucid. There is sometimes a discrepancy between what fields should be available and what is displayed on the screen. In these instances, a Jira admin needs to add the field to the screen in order to be able to edit the field in Lucid.
Check out the steps below for instructions on adding a field to all projects, an individual project, or an individual issue.
Add a field to screens for all projects
- In Jira, click the settings icon in the top-right corner.
- Click Issues.
- Select Custom fields from the navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Search for the field you want to add to all screens.
- Open the three-dot menu to the right of the field.
- Click Associate to screens.
- Check the box to the right of each screen you want to add the field to.
- Click Update.
Add a field to an individual project’s issue screen
- Open the issue that isn’t allowing a field to be edited in Jira.
- Select Project settings from the navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Click Screens from the navigation menu on the left-hand side under “Issues”.
- Select a screen.
- Using the dropdown menu at the bottom, add the field that wasn’t working.
- Back in Lucid, edit the card’s description to force a sync with Jira.
You should now be able to edit the field in Lucid.
