i have a line where it has a data linked data that contains the hex codes of its color supposedly it will use that hex code for its color how can i use that with the =fillcolor() formula or is there any other alternative
Hi
Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! To clarify, are you wanting the line with that data to be the color of the hex code it contains?
yes
Hi
Thank you for clarifying! Does every line in your data have a different hex code? Or are there only a few various hex codes?
Yes every line has a different hex code
Hi
Thank you for the reply and further clarifying your situation. After some further investigation, and speaking internally with our formulas team, I have discovered that this specific functionality with formulas isn’t possible. Alternatively, there a few other options to possibly accomplish this:
- One option is conditional formatting. You can create rules that if your data contains this hexcode, set the “then” rule to be the coordinating color.
- A second option, that would require more coding experience, is to write a simple extension API.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
