Thanks for your post. I'm sorry for any confusion on this and we appreciate the detailed video. To make it so that your arrows will not automatically connect to your new shapes I recommend going to View > Enable Line Connections and un-selecting this option. This will make it so that your new shapes will not be connected to existing lines upon placement on the canvas.
