Highly recommended by my Software Developers, I use Lucid Chart for my company’s org chart process.  There is much to be desired here. First there is no Admin Asst box that can side off to the side of the CEO.  There was an idea floating around in these threads regarding the Admin Assistant box in the org charts.  The support community offered a work around but it is not ideal.  In any rudimentary org chart software there is the admin assist box and Lucid has failed to make this work.  Like I stated in a question months ago, this is simple concept.  A CEO has a admin assistant that is not at the same level of the C-suite, that box becomes an off-shoot for in the org chart.  Lucid Chart does not have this option.

Second, It does not allow you to manipulate the vertical line size in the Org Chart function.  I cannot make the line longer from the CEO to C-Suite in order to accommodate a text box for the Admin Asst box that I have to create because Lucid Chart does not offer an Admin Asst.

Third, I need to change a group of direct reports to Vertical and it will not allowing me without changing the whole group.

Lucid Chart may be a great product for software developers but it is not at all an Org Chart software.

@Damaris M Thanks for posting in the community! It sounds like you’ve already seem some of the workarounds to adding administrative assistants, but if you’re curious to learn more about the process you can check out this post:

https://community.lucid.co/ideas/how-do-i-add-an-admin-assistant-to-my-org-chart-in-lucidchart-714

You can also add your use case and context to this idea, feedback from this section of the community is shared directly with Lucid developers.

Unfortunately, due to do the logical and hierarchical constraints of an org chart, it is not possible to display only certain branches of direct reports vertically and others horizontally. However, this post has some workarounds that may be helpful for your use case.

In terms of line sizing, this isn’t currently supported in Lucid, but we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or the updates you’d like to see in org charts within this thread. I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

Finally, for more information on how Lucid manages feedback via this community, take a look at this post:
