Automating the creation of multiple new Org Charts

Naipaul O

Dear Support

I have been using Lucid Chart for visualizing our customer's configuration for the last few months and this has been a highly manual process. The steps of the process are:-

  1. Cloning an existing Org-Chart with the required conditional visualizations
  2. Importing the new data from a CSV file
  3. printing the output to a PDF

We have a requirement from the Cloud arm of the organization that would like to achieve these reports from over 1000 customers in an automated manner. Each customer will have their own CSV file with the customer's name and a date-timestamp to the milli-second.
 - This data extraction may be used on a scheduled weekly rolling basis.

The document does not need to be viewed but it would be nice to host the Lucid Chart for 1 month but the PDF output is our first deliverable. I can clone a separate document for this process.

A simpler alternative is to have each customer generate their own chart by data importation but they will still need to be able to link to a unique Lucid Chart & then be able to invoke a simple process to import their data.

Any ideas on how to achieve this will be great.

Hi Naipaul

Thanks for posting in the Community!

I understand that with over 1000 customers it may take you some time to create these org charts.

At this time our tool allows users to automatically create org chart from a data source in a couple clicks. The tool was not designed to support large scale operations such as the one you are undertaking and I am afraid there isn't any way to scale the automation process to meet your current specific needs. I'm sorry!

B,ut we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products.
