Copy and Paste charts from Lucid to Powerpoint

Hello

Whenever creating a chart Ive been able to copy and paste the chart directly from online to PowerPoint without needing to export anything.

Now whenever I copy and paste a chart it shows up as a blank box.

Now I have to export the chart to put it into the file which is actually a lesser quality.

I have the integration in PowerPoint not sure what happened.

Hi @Stuarto, I am sorry that you are experiencing trouble with this. I can certainly understand your frustration here. Unfortunately, this functionality is not formally supported by Lucid, so copy/pasting is not guaranteed to result in the best experience since it does depend on both Lucid and Microsoft.

I would suggest utilizing the integrations we do have available. Do you have the integrations set up in your account? I would recommend setting up the Microsoft integrations shown in the Integrations Marketplace. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about setting everything up.

Additionally, if you would like to see the copy/paste into Word feature officially implemented and supported by Lucid, please feel free to leave your product feedback within the thread below. The copy/paste is working again for me. I am able to select all copy from Lucid and paste to Microsoft applications.

Very glad to see the functionality has been restored.

well, this week it stopped working for me. Like many others here, I use this ‘formally not supported’ feature many times a day, and its dissapearance is very frustrating.
Export and plug-ins are not viable options:
plug-in is simply not working, and export gives me a similar result as copy-paste (unless I need to copy only part of the page), but in about 20 clicks instead of 2.
I hope it will get restored soon, as my re-billing is in two weeks, and I simply won’t continue using Lucid if copy-paste won’t be working.

Hi @RomanJ

Thank you for the reply! I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with Lucid and Powerpoint. As mentioned in the highlighted answer, this functionality does depend on both Lucid and Microsoft to function. There is no guarantee that something may change in the future that is outside of our control preventing copy and paste from working.
As a workaround, have you tried exporting your document/document portion as a PNG (with transparent background)?

I just got the same issue a week ago, cannot copy and paste the chart in microsoft powerpoint… My colleague can use it normally. Anyone know how to solve the issue?

Hi @pratyakrub

This functionality is not guaranteed to function since it does depend on both Lucid and Microsoft. There may be something that occurred outside of Lucid’s control that prevents copy and paste from working on your device.

As a workaround, have you tried exporting your document/document portion as a PNG (with transparent background) and adding that to your presentation?

Agree 100% - I use Lucid exclusively for design and documentation, and have done so for many years but will discontinue subscription if this is not sorted out.

As Word and Microsoft are the industry standard (unfortunately) your developers should surely test before making changes as well as testing and resolving whenever Microsoft release any updates.

Exporting to PNG and then importing into Word is not a solution

Totally bogus that one cannot simply and easily copy a chart out of Lucid and paste it into PowePoint or Word. Why can companies like Smartdraw provide that feature but years later you still cannot?

This likely loses you a sale.
