Line connector points on the outer shape in a group

I have a shape, icon and text frame grouped together as one object for logical representation. If I want to connect my “grouped” object to another regular shape (or another group object), the line connector points do not appear. For example I have an icon, text box and a rounded rectangle shape grouped together as shown below. If I want to connect this group to another group or any standalone shape, the line connection points do not appear on the outermost rectangle shape, like it would appear on a standalone object.

Above: Grouped object - No connection points appear

Above: Standalone shape - connection points appear as circled above

Is this omission intentional or a missing feature? Either way, it makes my diagramming task a lot harder.

Hi @ssray23, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! Connections points do not populate the same way when shapes are grouped. However, in my experience, if you hover over the edges of your group, you should be able to drag a line from your group to another shape. Please note, this connections point typically appear near the same spot where they would appear for the shape on its own, rather than in a group.

However, we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience within this thread. I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.
