Im wondering if it is possible to format a shape based on whether or not it has a link action.

Hi Janna thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! I'm not quite sure I understand what you are trying to do here could you explain a little further and I'd be happy to assist?

If you are trying to save a shape with an action link assigned the shape can be added into your Custom Shape Library which will save the formatting and allow for the linked shape to be saved for future use. By adding a formatted shape to your Custom Shape Library the linked website will then be attached to this specified shape and can be reused.

I think we might be getting some where but let me give some more details.

I have a mind map that I've actually had to break into multiple pages. What I have done is a high-level mind map then when you click on a node(shape) it goes to a page where then it goes into a more detailed mind map. So I have an action on the shape of the higher level mind map linking to the page with more detail. What I would like to do is color the text (turn it blue) in the shape of the higher level mind map to indicate that there is an action(link) to a more detailed page. Not all node(shapes) will have actions(links to pages). So I was wondering if there was a way to set up a conditional formatting rule so that if there is an action on the shape it formats the text(turns it blue) to indicate there is an action on the shape.

Hopefully that provides more context.

Hi Janna

Thank you so much for the clarification! Unfortunately the conditional formatting feature has its limits and what you are trying to do is not currently supported in Lucidchart. However I think this would be a great addition if possible to the conditional formatting feature would you mind adding your idea to our feature request form? Ideas submitted to this form are passed on to the product development team for their consideration.

As a growing company we take our feature requests very seriously. We are continuously looking for how we can make our product more useful and effective for our users and we pass that information directly to our product development team.
