Hello,

I’m a big fan of the Layers functionality. I typically re-use a ‘Margins’ layer that includes a description, author(s), last update date, etc. block. However, while diagramming, I typically hide this layer. Some of my diagrams may end up with 8-10 layers, so I could create a dedicated layers-toggle guide, but this would a) be in its own layer, and b) would have to be re-created and re-programmed with every document. Also, the hotspots work best in ‘presentation’ mode… but, that’s also not always ideal.

The current Layers dialogue works great… but it gets in the way of the diagramming. If I’m presenting a diagram, it’s obstructive and BIG. Ideally, it could be compact (with layer names appearing when I hover over a mini version of it). In the example below, I have to sacrifice diagram space to make room for the Layers dialogue.

Another option would be to auto-hide so it shows up when I hover over the layers icon.
