Hi,

I used to integrate Lucid icons to make my work easier to read/watch for audiences.

The icons were consistent in style, and were vector icons, so I could increase their size to make the document more readable.

Today, as I tried to add another icon (Left bar Menu > Images > Icons), the icon library was empty, and all I have now is a search field powered by IconFinder.
The result ? Instead of browsing the Lucid icon library for ideas and matches, I now need to know specifically what I’m looking for every time, type it, and get icons from the web.
Problem with that approach is:
1. Most icons look terrible.
2. Even if they didn’t, I need a consistent set of icons to choose from, not get every time an icon from a different source, with a completely different design or I’ll end up with a Frankenstein-looking document...

I tried typing icon names (:icon-name) with the text field feature, but:

  1. It does not give me access to the entire icon library, only to a few matching results.
  2. Icons do not seem to be vector files, since when I increase their size, they get pixellated.

I’m really surprised this could happen. I can no longer update my work (a roadmap) as it would look terrible. Seems like an own-goal from Lucid… 😵

Is there any other way to browse the Lucid native icon library, and have access to the vector versions ?

Thanks a lot for any advice!

Okay, I’m answering my own question 😂

The document had been switched from Lucidspark editor to Lucidchart editor.

For some reason, the behaviour is different between the two products on this.

So, the question from my post is not relevant: the weird part is the two Lucid products do not use the same feature. Lucidspark’s seems more advanced than Lucidchart’s.

Back to work 😊

Hi @nicop, thanks for your post!

Icons in all our Lucid products are powered by Iconfinder. For more consistency, we recommend relying on the “Shapes In Use” section in the Shapes panel on the left side of the Lucidchart app, as such:

If using the Lucidspark app, you can switch to Lucidchart by clicking on “Edit in Lucidchart”, which will show all shapes used in Lucidspark previously.

I hope this is helpful! Thank you so much for your feedback. We are continuously looking for ways to improve our products and your input is the most effective way to achieve that goal. You can post new ideas in the Lucid Community and these ideas will be shared with our Product Development team for consideration.

Cheers!

I wasn’t accurate enough: emojis library is what I was looking for, not Icons library.

The emojis library is easily accessible, along with Images/Icons/etc. from the left menu in LucidSpark, but is nowhere to be found in LucidChart.

@nicop thanks for clarifying!

Despite a different workflow, emojis are supported in Lucidchart. You can simply type ‘ : followed by the name of the emoji you want to use, which will open a list of all emojis containing the word you have typed. As such:

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
