When Lucid is installed as a browser app in Microsoft Edge, trying to create a new document causes the browser app to close.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Lucid as a browser app in Edge
  2. Open a Lucidchart document.
  3. Click File > New > Lucidchart
  4. Browser app window will close with no warning

Hi @sumo-g,

Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community!

Could you try this in a private or incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? Could you also try connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)? Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility. For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post (in English).

If those don’t resolve the problem, can you please send the following information so I can take a closer look?

  • A screenshot of the issue.
  • A screenshot of the associated Javascript Console output after reproducing the issue. You can open your Javascript Console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J (if your computer is a Windows/Linux) OR Cmd+Opt+J (if your computer is a Mac).

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

@Michelle S You cannot install a web site as a browser app when using the InPrivate feature.  Only when Lucid is installed as a browser app does it behave like this where it closes the app window.

I also cannot do anything with the JavaScript console as the window just closes as soon as I click File > New > Lucidchart.

You can easily reproduce this by installing the Lucid web site as an app and then clicking File > New > Lucidchart.  If it does not close the window, it’s definitely some configuration on my end, but if it does, it’s something that may not be supported by Lucid (which is OK if it’s not).

Hi @sumo-g ,

Thanks for your response! I tested this on my end, and I am unable to reproduce this issue. To help me take a closer look, can you please send the following information?

  • Can you confirm if this happens when you are connected to a different network or mobile hotspot?
  • Can you confirm if this happens on a different device?
  • Are you connected to a VPN? Can you try disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)?
  • Does this happen when you are working in a normal browser?
  • Can you send me a screen-recording of the issue?

I appreciate all of your time and patience!
