Hello,

I’ve been charged with moving my companies file sharing from dropbox to Lucid. We use lots of inDesign files, but when i try to upload them to Lucid i receive the ‘-error 50’ message on my macbook.

I’ve copied these files to the desktop so their local and downlaoded. I have tried duplicating them and running the ‘xattr -c /path/to/pdf’ on the terminal to remove problematic attributes, but nothing is working.

Has anyone had a similar issue/found a solution?

best,

Mark

@mon Try restarting your computer. If that doesn’t work, submit a ticket to Lucid’s Product Support.

Hi @mon thank you for posting in the Community! I’ll be happy to help.

In order for me to have a better understanding of the behaviour you are experiencing, could you please provide a detailed description of the steps taken leading up to the issue with your import? Could you also confirm what is the format of the files you are trying to import?

Finally, could you please provide a screenshot of the issue and error message that appears?

For context, we support imports from Microsoft Visio, Gliffy, Draw.io, OmniGraffle, Miro, MURAL, FigJam and files in CSV formats.

Here are some additional resources to help you get started when importing files into Lucid:

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Cheers!

Hello,

Thank you.

context:
I’ve been attempting to transfer my companies dropbox to lucid. Many of the files are indesign files or pdfs made in indesign.

I am using an m3 macbook with Sonoma.

Issue:

initially, i downloaded the dropbox files locally and attempted to upload them to lucid. However, I soon encountered the error message ‘The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50).’ when attempting to upload some indesign files and pdfs made in indesign. This is an apple error message but only appears when uploading to lucid; i have no issue uploading the same files to dropbox, frame.io or external drives.

Trouble shooting:

I have attempted copy-and-pasting the problematic files to my desktop, attemtping to remove meta-data with the terminal prompt ‘xattr -c /path/to/file.indd’, re-packaging and re-uploading the files and re-starting my laptop. However, the problem persists.

you can find an example of a problematic file here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/afqx2s9jc96gzrtlpp7ny/AJDMn457R49OWPGvZKu9nTM?rlkey=ciij2dt09d9uhaisqnkvhyr3c&e=1&dl=0

I can see no logic between the files for which this issue occurs. For example, there are cases where i’ve made multiple versions of a poster in different aspect ratios, all with identical assets and exported with the same settings,  and yet some of them encounter the error and others upload fine.

I realise this is quite a specific issue, but if you have any ideas it would be appreciated.

Thank you
