When I insert a link into a Lucidspark document, a preview no longer appears. The preview is visible in the block settings.

Hi @Stephan Kleen

Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! Can you please send the following information so I can take a closer look?

  • Describe the steps you are taking to add a link to your Lucidspark board
  • A screenshot of the issue

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

Hi Michelle,

I have noticed that many thumbnails of the links are displayed after a long time (1 or 2 days!). To embed links, I copy them directly from the browser to the clipboard and then paste them into the Lucidspark document. The links which does not show a thumbnail look like this:

Hi @Stephan Kleen

Thanks for the reply! Could you share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN.

Hi Michelle,

Currently, when new links are added, they appear immediately. It seems that this was a temporary problem. However, I have two links that still cannot be displayed. One link also generates an error message. I have copied these into a separate document and created a support pin for this: dulkAhfSRGxZz1199542369

I hope this helps.

Hi @Stephan Kleen, link previews and thumbnails are generated using Embedly, which scrapes images from third-party sites. For certain sites, we have custom unfurler extensions to fetch thumbnail details. If a site doesn’t provide the necessary metadata or restricts scraping, a preview may not appear. In these cases, this is expected behavior.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience. We are continuously looking for ways to improve our products and your input is the most effective way to achieve that goal. You can post new ideas and feedback in the Lucid Community and these ideas will be shared with our Product Development team for consideration.

Cheers!

OK, thanks for the answer.
