when using auto layout with locked nodes, it completly messes up connections. Tried with only locked nodes and also with locked lines.
What is best way, where i can lock containers to position and than do auto layout which would arrange them better.

Hi Huma,
thanks a lot for pointing me to that thread and for your support! Unfortunately, the suggested approach didn’t solve the issue in my case – the connections don’t get messed up as much, but now nodes collide with each-other (when I use auto-layout).
Could you maybe double-check if there’s another workaround or setting I might have missed? I’d be happy to provide screenshots or a sample file if that helps troubleshooting.
What I really want is to be able to lock 2 containers side to side of eachother and than being able to auto-layout connections so it does not get as messy.
Doing big project for school with currently 200+ objects and 300+ connections. I use canisters to separate different groups of nodes. Moving and arranging by hand takes a lot of time and it can all crash down when I need to change a group of them.
Tried group function, but it didn't bear fruits for me.
Thanks again for your time and help!
Best regards, Luka
Hi @Luka
Thanks for the outcome, let me also loop some other internal product experts here to take a closer look.
CC: @Micah / @Ambar D - Could you please review Luka's situation and suggest a suitable workaround to address the issue?

Hi @Luka,
Are you referring to Assisted Layout or Auto Line Linking when you mention Auto Layout? Here's an article about assisted layout, it explains how to disable line routing. This might be useful.
