Hi Lucidchart team,

I’m using the Org Chart template and trying to display a team where:

  • One manager has 8 direct reports
  • One of those 8 also has their own 2–3 direct reports

The issue is: Lucidchart tries to keep all 8 direct reports on the same horizontal level, including the one that has their own reports. This causes the chart to flatten horizontally instead of creating a clean top-to-bottom vertical flow.

Is there a way to force the chart to stack vertically, even when some roles have sub-reports?

Thanks!

Hi @taylor.pacelli

Native support for stacking certain direct reports vertically while keeping others horizontal within an organizational chart is not available.

To delegate this, you'll need to manually adjust positions, use line connectors, and optionally leverage blank shapes or layers for alignment.

Thank you very much and have a great one!
