When trying to import vsdx or Drawio files, the import says it is done, but Lucid drawing is showing nothing.

I have run into the same problem, but thought it might have been an issue with a multiple-page Lucid File.

Kvanaas,

Thanks for posting your question. Importing a Drawio can be confusing and a bit counterintuitive at the moment. Important note: the import routine brings them into Lucid as a separate file - not into your current working document. You’ll have to copy and paste as needed from the newly created import into your current working document.

With that - here’s the easy steps...

After you select the file to import there is a dialog box showing your file with the Done button; however don’t select Done! To the right of the file name is the View Document link - select this instead and it will open your item in a new Lucid Chart in a new tab. Below is an example of going through this process.

Hopefully this process works for you.

Note: the help file says, “Imported files will be saved to the Documents page as new documents.”; therefore if you go to your Lucid → Documents → My documents you will find them there. They will NOT be in your Lucid → Recent (the default document view) because they haven’t been opened (unless you use the View Document link above).  I’ll be opening up an item with the Lucid team to review this behavior as it is a bit confusing.

Thanks,

Rick

Hello, I have a problem uploading a file in the same way I always do; it tells me it is empty.

Hi @Nadia Vildoza, thanks for adding to this thread. I’m happy to help! Would you mind confirming what file type you are trying to import into Lucid?

I recommend trying the following steps to begin. Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility.

  • Could you try opening your document in a private or incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post.
  • Could you also try connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)?

If those don’t resolve the problem, can you please send the following information so I can take a closer look?

  • A screenshot of what you encounter when trying to upload your file, including any error messages
  • The file type and size of the file you are trying to import

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

Hola ya lo resolvi, muchas gracias.
