Hello,

  • I want all non-straight lines to have sharp, right-angles.  How do I keep Lucid from rounding my lines?
  • I want all non-rounded shapes to have sharp, right-angles.  How do I keep Lucid from rounding my shapes (squares, rectangles, etc.)?

Thank you!

Hi @kcrossley

To disable rounding for shapes, begin by selecting the shape you want to modify, such as a square or rectangle, click on the "Shape Options" icon.

Within the Shape Options menu, locate the "Rounded" setting and adjust the value to 0. This simple step will eliminate any rounded edges

Thank you @Humas1985.  That worked perfectly.  Unfortunately, the “Rounded” option is greyed out for me when I select a line.  How do I remove rounding from lines?

Thanks!

K

Hi @kcrossley

If the Rounded option is greyed out, it indicates that the selected line type does not allow for corner modifications.

As another option, consider using the Polyline like Tool instead of the standard line tool. This tool enables you to create multi-segment lines with sharp corners, which may meet your needs.

Thank you @Humas1985!  Although I’m disappointed, I’m happy to have such a quick response.

Be well,

K

Hi @kcrossley, I’m happy to add some context here! While the rounded option is not available for lines, you can navigate to Line Options menu in the formatting toolbar, and choose Straight or Elbow. If you choose one of these options without a line selected, all lines added to your canvas going forward should reflect that setting. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks for your help here @Humas1985!

I pulled a rectangle and set the roundedness from 6 to 2 and pulled another and got 6 again. How to default for a corporate template?

Hi @ml4

For that, the recommendation would be Create a Custom Shape Library and Set Up template which can be your Corporate Template.

Is there anyway to set a “default” corner radius for the document? Otherwise you have to change it on every shape every time you put one on your diagram? (I should clarify that I paste in a lot of bitmaps, and they come in in rounded corner boxes and those are the ones I have to constantly reset to 0px individually)

Hi @tstearns

Thanks for your post! It looks like you replied to two posts, I have answered your question in the post linked below:

I need this option as well, it’s so time consuming when uploading many pictures and have to change the radius individually.

Hi @Cam, thank you for adding to this thread! Unfortunately, there is no way to add a default setting to your document.

However, you can apply your preference to all shapes in a document by going through this flow in LucidchartSelect > All shapes > Shape options menu > Adjust the rounded px of your shapes

The same can be done in Lucidspark with shapes and/or images as shown below:
