Hello,

For the need of my Thesis I subscribed for the Individual plan and already paid a month. During my research I found out that as a student I can have the free Education plan.
Which I did and confirmed my ID as a university student.

I am planning to cancel the Individual plan in order to use my free Educational account. For the moment in order to work on the diagrams I have in my the Individual account I have shared them with my Educational. Right now there are 5-6 diagrams with many shapes, which is something that would forbid me from having a free plan without a subscription.

My questions are:

  1. Given that I cancel my subscription for my Individual account will I still be able to work on the shared diagrams?
  2. Is there an easier way to migrate from my Individual account to my Educational?
  3. I tried to copy the diagrams but it seems there is a restriction. Does the Education plan offers limited diagrams and shapes in compares to an Individual plan?

Thanks,

Thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! Rather than trying to transfer your documents, I recommend updating the email address on your Individual account to your EDU email. You can make this change through your User Settings page. For more information, please view our Access and update account settings article from the Lucid Help Center. For a brief overview, check out this Community post. If you already have a Lucid account under your EDU email, that account will need to be deleted before you can update your email address on your Individual account.

Then fill out this form to request a free educational upgrade. Once the form is submitted, the upgrade may take up to one week to apply. The upgrade will be valid for two years. Please see the Lucidchart EDU article for more details on our educational offerings.

Additionally, here is a summary of the differences between a Free EDU account and an Individual account:

Free EDU

  • Unlimited document creation, but only 3 most recent remain editable
  • No object limit
  • Access to educational templates
  • 250 MB of storage

Individual

  • Unlimited editable documents
  • Premium shape libraries and templates
  • Presentation mode
  • 1 GB of storage
