Hi @hyuz
Lucidchart has a frequent autosave feature, but its undo history isn't always comprehensive, particularly after significant edits like resizing swimlanes that impact multiple objects.
- The Ctrl+Z undo function typically only covers recent changes made in the current session. If you've made major changes and then left the document idle or saved it, the undo history may reset.
- Besides, revision history snapshots are saved periodically, which means you might only see older versions in the version history.
To make the most of the undo feature, it's best to perform undo actions immediately after making a change, without long delays or navigating away from the document.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
Hi @hyuz, thank you for your post and thank you @Humas1985 for sharing your insights!
Ctrl + Z (or ⌘ + Z on Mac) should indeed undo your last action in Lucid since that shortcut is fully supported, as noted in our keyboard shortcuts list.
Could you let me know whether the issue persists in a Chrome incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? Could you also try connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)? Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility. For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post.
Alternatively, could you try using Edit → Undo from the top menu instead of the shortcut, to see if that works?
I appreciate your help and patience!
The OP did try Ctrl-Z but it doesnt always work in Lucid.
As noted by @Humas1985 Ctrl-Z doesnt yet work on all types of changes. Complex changes cannot easily be undone.
This is the correct answer.
@hyuz thank you for following up here!
In order for me to rule a few things out, could you please let me know whether Ctrl-Z works consistently in a Chrome incognito window for you?
Additionally, could you please let me know whether the issue persists using Edit → Undo from the top menu instead of the shortcut?
Thank you for your continued collaboration!
This didn't work Zuzia. Please don't mark your incomplete answers as correct.
@hyuz thank you for following up in this thread!
For context, our team unmarked the previous reply as “Best Answer” because we would like to rule out a few additional possibilities and take a closer look at your exact experience before drawing any final conclusions. We really appreciate your patience while we work through this with you!
I am sorry to hear the issue persists in a Chrome incognito window. Just to make sure I am understanding correctly, the issue persists when using the Undo button at the bottom right of the screen, and Edit → Undo from the top menu as well? At this time, I was not able to able to reproduce the issue when working with complex swim lanes and various Undo options.
Could you please provide the following information in order for us to investigate this further?:
- A detailed description of the steps taken leading up to the issue
- Screenshots taken before and during the issue occurring
- Could you please confirm whether the issue persists in a blank new document?
- A screenshot of the associated Javascript Console output. You can open your Javascript Console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + J (if your computer is a Windows / Linux) OR Cmd + Opt + J (if your computer is a Mac)
- A temporary Support PIN for this document. For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article
Thank you so much for your help here!
