We migrated Confluence documents to a new Confluence space (after an acquisition), and all the Gliffy macros broke. No problem, Lucidchart is installed, but when viewing a page with 2 Gliffy macro / documents, and I click the “Convert Gliffy Diagrams” app button, the Convert Gliffy Diagrams modal shows previews of the two Gliffy diagrams, but when I click Submit, this error message is displayed:
“An error occurred. Please reload the page and try again. If the problem persists, contact Lucidchart support.”

Reloading the page doesn’t fix the problem.

These old Gliffy image on the Confluence pages are old (ancient, 2015), and the files show a .gxml extension (instead of .gliffy).

I downloaded the .gxml file and successfully imported it into my Lucidchart account. To repeat, the Confluence conversion did show preview images.

I inherited hundreds of old architecture diagrams in Confluence that need to be converted from .gxml to Lucidchart. Is there a way to get the Confluence app to do that? Some other solution?

Thanks!

Hi @KBL

Currently, the Lucidchart Confluence app cannot bulk-convert legacy .gxml Gliffy diagrams due to format and API limitations. Options are limited to manual single-page conversions or bulk exporting the .gxml attachments from Confluence and importing them directly into Lucidchart.

Thank you very much and have a great one!

Hi @Humas1985,

  1. What do you mean by “Options are limited to manual single-page conversions...”? I’m only attempting to convert two of these older Gliffy images on a single Confluence page.
  1. If “two” Gliffy images are considered “bulk”, is there a method for me to convert a single one at a time? I haven’t found it.

Thanks.

Hi @KBL, thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble with Gliffy conversion. Since this may require us to take a closer look, I am going to move this conversation over to a private support ticket. Please keep an eye out for an email from Lucid Support. Thanks!
