Change shape button missing after AI update

Another company hurting functionality to add AI I don’t need….😣

Hovering no longer gives me an option to change the shape - only this AI tool that I don’t need right now. I look at the full menu, no option to change the shape.

The only way I can find to change the shape here is add a completely new one from the left tool bar. Not ideal when I decide to change the shapes halfway into a project...now I just have to redo the whole thing?

Hopefully I just need another cup of coffee and am just overlooking it, but WHERE is the change shape button!?

Hi @MyShell222, thank you for this additional information and for sharing your PIN! I was able to view your document, but have not been able to reproduce the behavior you’re describing. Selecting on the shapes in the current state map did provide me with the option to change shape successfully. I’d like to dig into this a bit deeper to see what may be causing this.

Would you mind trying the following steps to help us narrow down the potential cause? Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility.

  • Could you try opening your board in a private or incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post.
  • Could you also try connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)?

If those don’t resolve the problem, can you please send the following information so I can take a closer look?

  • Are you seeing this behavior across all your Lucid documents, or just this one?
  • A screenshot of the issue.
  • A screenshot of the associated Javascript Console output after reproducing the issue. You can open your Javascript Console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J (if your computer is a Windows/Linux) OR Cmd+Opt+J (if your computer is a Mac).

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

Hi @Carrie Holland, thank you for posting in the Lucid Community!

Sorry for the delay in response here, but I’m happy to help. I’m checking with our product team and hope to have some insight for you soon.

In the meantime, could you share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN

Hi @Carrie Holland,  thanks for your patience as I looked into this further!

Would you mind letting me know which shape you’re using here? The ‘change shape’ functionality only applies to some specific types of shapes. (like those in the Flowchart library, for example).

I would recommend using the Process shape from the Flowchart library. Would you mind trying that specific shape and letting me know if you’re still running into this?

I’m having the same issue. I cannot change my process flow shape from Manual Input to Process. From Decision to Process or any other process shape.

I think I was trying to change a Standard Block to a Flowchart Process box. You can close this out. I don’t think this feature is available.

Thank you for those details @MyShell222, you’re correct!

I would recommend dragging out a flowchart shape onto your document, and you should see the option to change shape there. The change shape option is not available within all shape libraries, but it is available for most shapes in the flowchart shapes library.
