Bug in PNG Export - invisible layers

I have some layers invisible but when I Export → Image, the non-visible layers are still included.

Export should only include visible layers.

Hello @JeffHallettPureStorage, thank you for posting in the Lucid community!

Could you try opening your document in a private or incognito window to help us narrow down the potential cause? Could you also try connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)? Sometimes account performance issues can be related to internet security/speed or browser issues. These steps will help us eliminate that possibility. For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post.

If you have hidden layers showing up in your exported PNG, try these steps to fix it:

  1. Open your Layers panel (located in the bottom-left of the editor canvas).

  2. Toggle your layers to show only the ones you want in the export.

  3. Click the "Save view" button.

  4. Try exporting to PNG again.

  5. Please review this Lucid Help Center article on Layers for more information.

If the steps above don’t work, can you please send the following information so I can take a closer look?

  • A screenshot of the issue.

  • A screenshot of the associated Javascript Console output after reproducing the issue. You can open your Javascript Console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J (if your computer is a Windows/Linux) OR Cmd+Opt+J (if your computer is a Mac).

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

Hello, using Save View did allow me to download a PNG with only the visible layers showing, although the image was sized to include all the content. I can live with cropping the unnecessary whitespace.

Hi @JeffHallettPureStorage,

I’m happy to hear that worked for you! You may have already tried this, but you can Custom crop when exporting to a PNG. I just wanted to make sure you knew this was a possibility directly in Lucid, in case you were cropping it outside of Lucid. Hope that helps! Thanks again for posting in the Lucid Community!
