When I open chart this morning all background colors disappeared visually but if you select the item it shows that the color is still the fill?

All the background colors of the disappeared from all containers.

Can you try toggling WebGL Option.
This can be done by selecting View > Rendering > Use WebGL and un-selecting this option. For help with disabling WebGL, please see this Community post
