Please allow users to invert the scrolling control in Lucid. It’s popular in most video games. Example, when I move the mouse to the left, I want my screen to go right because my brain computes it as a pulling motion. I am moving my screen right because I want items to flow in from the left.  When I move the mouse down I want the screen to go up.

It is also driving me nuts. I struggle with this every few minutes that I’m force to use this tools being our new corporate tool but. Every time I keep going through my mind at all the program I use like photo editors, svg editor, 3d CAD, CNC, visual editors,… NONE have this behavior, except some mode in Inkscape.

Either obey the mouse commands as configured in the OS or build an extensive configuration panel. Having only two options is woefully inadequate for a visual app.

Most of us visual thinkers never take our hands off of the mouse (or the keyboard) thus hot keys and extended mouse keys are ...key. 😊

Hi team - resurrecting this one from a few months ago, to upvote with all my heart.

I can’t think of any other app that has the ‘drag’ motion like it is here, which is super-confusing with muscle memory. Please add that feature to set the ‘drag’ direction to inverted, to make it more usable! I suspect I have about 24 hours patience with Lucidspark as it is now (tool at a new company).

as a new user to lucid this drove me insane - i much prefer the feeling of “grabbing the page” and draging it around than directing where i want the camera to go using the mouse

i did not realise right clicking did this function, i asusmed it to be middle click lilke on every other app

I have since discovered too. Using the right mouse button, it behaves… much like it sensibly should.

So - the functionality is there. But - I am not sure why it is ‘buried’ the equivalent of ‘three rows deep’ in UX terms (on both a mousepad and mouse, I tried left click, middle click and all manner of keyboard keys - before finding this three weeks later)…

@Ambar D  and team - by way of feedback - in the space of that three weeks, I had basically given up on the Lucid tools, and lobbied leadership to move planning/whiteboarding activities over to Miro - because productivity was so drastically reduced having to rethink every simple action.

So - it’s not asking for new features. Just A/B test reconfiguring the canvas behaviours for each button to be more like every other app. I expect many users will thank you. Or - if you are strongly concerned about disrupting legacy users who’ve learned to deal with this - then… do add a secondary configuration of button behaviours in the settings that users can opt into. Suggestions for naming conventions could be

A: Quirky Lucid Original Settings

B: The Way You Are Expecting It To Work Like Every Other App

:-)

Thank you @TiMo for leaving your detailed feedback about your experience with scrolling and navigating the Lucid canvas. I am sorry to hear that this caused you trouble, and I understand your frustrations.

I can certainly see what your’e saying here, and this is incredibly valuable feedback for our product teams! The team will continue to review feedback within this space as they research and work on enhancements. Thank you again for your suggestions.

For anyone else who may be experiencing trouble with navigating in Lucid, I do recommend checking out this Help Center article which covers selecting your navigation mode: Navigate the Board and Canvas View Controls. While I know this doesn’t address all specific concerns, ensuring that you select the proper navigation mode may help your experience.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how you would like to see this change!
