Hide page tab in a Lucidchart document

Hi Michael Thanks for reaching out on the Lucidchart Community! There is not currently a way to hide a single page within a document, but we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience within this thread. I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

There are two options that I would suggest as a workaround. The first is copying the diagram/information you have on that page into a separate Lucidchart document so that it isn't deleted completely but can be removed from this document. The other option is duplicating your document and saving a copy with that unwanted page deleted; that way you will have a version of your document with and without that page and you can then decide which to use for your final copy. Hope this helps!

Follow up questions:
I don't want a "Master Page" to appear in a presentation but if it is deleted all linked pages lose their "Master" content. This is not good.

How should "Master Pages" be handled when sharing a document for presentation or review?

Hi @network a thanks for continuing this thread! Just to confirm by 'presentation' are you referring to using presentation mode to transform your document into a slide deck? 

When using presentation mode it is possible to flexibly choose which pages you would like to include in your presentation and omit the master page. If you are exporting your document to share and present master pages will be omitted from this.

By "Presentation" I mean sending the LucidChart document to a team member in "view" or "comment" mode. In these cases the "Master Page" is confusing to the viewer.

I have tried "Presentation Mode"and do not see a way to hide the Master page without manually "Adding" each slide (page) to the presentation. This is not practical for many pages when only ONE page needs to be hidden.

Hi @network a thanks for following up with that information! You're right it looks like "Presentation Mode" is not suitable for your use-case. Unfortunately hiding pages is still not supported in Lucidchart so it's not possible to hide a Master page. However I can certainly see how this could be confusing if you are sharing the document with other collaborators.

Yeah hide tabs. Really difficult to manage large networks of process without oversharing or creating artifacts that will become outdated as the master document gets updated

Hi ​@azmoving2016, thanks so much for adding your feedback to this thread and showing support for this idea! 

Not being able to hide tabs in Lucid is a bugbear I’ve had for years! Having separate documents clutters up team spaces and makes it difficult to identify the single source of truth.

Ideally, I would want to maintain a single document, create new tabs to reflect the current situation and hide previous tab versions so they are available for reference but not immediately visible.

Sharing this idea in my organisation to get try get it upvoted!

Have upvoted this as it would be really beneficial for me to be able to hide tabs that have been outdated but need to be kept without having to have multiple documents as archived versions to prevent confusion on the part of those accessing them.

I’m aware that others have tabs with interrelated dependencies that pull through to each other but don’t all need to be visible/potentially confusing for some users, so this would help them too.
