Why can't I move a shape or add it to a custom library

carrie.sheaffer

I have a shape I imported from an SVG. It's a brace for use with callouts (with no text box associated). When I try to interact with this shape all I get are connector lines--I cannot "select" it to drag it; if I select it by outlining the shape area I still can't drag it.

I also want to add this shape to my shared custom shape library but am not given that option when I right click on it.

I'm having similar issues with other shapes but they're not as bad--with enough effort I can manage to select and drag without engaging a connection point.

What's going on? Is there a setting somewhere that is hyper-focusing on connectors? Can I turn off the connector feature for a shape or a document? I don't need those for this shape and they're preventing me from doing basic things.

UPDATE: Figured out how to open page settings and turned off connectors but I still can't drag my shape or add it to my shape library. The only way to move it is to resize it.

Hi Carrie

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! Currently it is only possible to add shapes to your own custom shape libraries. However we are constantly looking for ways to improve. Would you mind adding your use case to our feature request form? Suggestions submitted via this form are passed directly to our product development team for their consideration.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Liz this doesn't answer my question!

am trying to add this to my custom shape library. I've successfully added many other shapes to my custom shape library (which happens to be shared) and don't understand why this one won't work.

Also the second half of my question is why I can't move this shape: I can't drag it to another position on the canvas.
