When adjusting your license settings in the admin panel, selecting “admin-controlled access” means new users will join as limited-access users as described in this community post.

If you’ve selected this option, you will also see additional settings to adjust, including the custom license request dialog.

How does customizing the Lucid license request dialog work?

As described in more detail here, you can adjust this license request dialog by:

  • Adding a button label
  • Creating a custom message
  • Setting notification preferences for license requests
  • Redirecting users to a another URL (ex. ServiceNow, a SharePoint page with instructions, a Google Form, a URL that creates a ticket in a different system, or any valid URL)

A few specific items to note:

  • The license request button can not be removed.
  • Pending license requests appear within Lucid even if licensing is handled in a different system.
  • Once a user is granted or denied a license, the pending license request is resolved automatically within Lucid.
  • By default, notifications for license requests create a ‘mailto’ link addressed to your account admin, prompting users to send an email to the account admin. You can change the recipient of these emails by entering a different email address.

  • If you’ve selected to redirect users to another service or URL to manage licensing, as a best practice, customize a detailed message with instructions users may need to follow to request licenses outside of Lucid.
