What is the PPI of an image inserted from the Lucidchart Word add-in?

Is it higher than the maximum value of 300 PPI that can be set when exporting as an image from Lucidchart?

Hello Happymapper,

Love the screenname! It appears that you are experiencing issues with the quality of the image(s) you are exporting to Microsoft Word.

This resource should help: https://help.lucid.co/hc/en-us/articles/16324571257492-Export-or-print-a-Lucid-document#export-as-jpg-svg-png-pdf

It shows you various ways to crop and adjust the quality, including zoom level, screen quality, and print quality. Let me know if this doesn’t improve the export. 🙂

Hi @happymapper, thank you for posting in the community. That’s a great question! I am checking with our teams internally to confirm this and will update this thread as soon as I have more information.

Thank you for your patience and please let me know if you have any additional questions in the meantime!

Hello happymapper,

The default DPI for export images is 255. If the image fails to export due to a `ImageTooLargeError` received from Word, we reduce the DPI until Word accepts the image. This can cause larger images (by pixel dimensions) to end up with a much larger resolution in Word

Thanks for your response @Michael B
