AI productivity tools are evolving fast, but many still don’t fit naturally into real-world workflows. Some feel overly complicated, while others promise automation but still require a lot of manual effort.

I’ve been testing different AI tools recently, and I’m curious what challenges others are facing when trying to use AI for daily work, collaboration, research, or productivity.

What’s the biggest frustration you’ve experienced with AI productivity tools so far?

Are there specific problems that current tools still haven’t solved well? Or have you found approaches that actually improved your workflow in a meaningful way?

Would love to hear real experiences, opinions, and what people think AI tools should improve next.

@romquesta normally Product questions have questions on how to troubleshoot an issue, but this is a welcome change.

What’s the biggest frustration you’ve experienced with AI productivity tools so far? The AI not understanding the ask and thus not able to provide the correct answer.

Are there specific problems that current tools still haven’t solved well? Yes, there are certain industries that do not lend itself to AI use that require human judgment, experience, insight, and creativity that only a human possesses or where the quality checks of AI take so much time that it results in negative productivity. A good example of AI causing a glut of a backlog is in the research article world where hallucinated bibliographies throw the entire article into question.

Or have you found approaches that actually improved your workflow in a meaningful way? I prefer asking AI for suggestions and for me to see proposed changes before implementing them to make sure there are no changes made that cannot be reverted back if there’s something wrong with it. If I am able to see the proposed changes and am able to make corrections to them before they go into effect, that results in a better result to workflow.
