Creating clear and effective system architecture diagrams can be challenging, especially for complex setups involving multiple hardware and software components.

When designing diagrams for an AI PC, it’s important to accurately represent components like the CPU, NPU, memory, storage, network interfaces, and AI workloads.

For users experienced with Lucidchart:

  • What techniques do you use to make AI PC architecture diagrams both detailed and easy to understand?

  • Are there specific Lucidchart templates or shapes that work well for representing AI hardware and AI workflows?

  • How do you handle multiple AI pipelines in the same diagram without cluttering the layout?

  • Do you include performance metrics or just structural elements in your diagrams?

  • How do you collaborate with teammates in Lucidchart when designing AI PC systems?

  • Are there best practices for updating diagrams as the AI PC evolves or scales?

I’d love to see examples, tips, or workflows that make Lucidchart diagrams for AI PCs more effective and informative. Any advice or shared experiences would be really helpful.

Hi @harrycmary, thanks for posting in the Community!

Here are some ideas and tips to help you get started building clear and effective system architecture diagrams for an AI PC in Lucidchart:

  • The templates AI Transformation Workflow as well as AI Process Flow available in Lucidchart are great starting points.
  • Our Azure AI + Machine Learning standard shape library is great for representing modern AI stacks. You could combine these shapes with your own shape library for AI PC hardware.
  • You can create consistency through a custom shape library for CPU, NPU, RAM, storage, etc. Please see our developer documentation on Custom shape libraries for more information on this.
  • I highly recommend our course on Visualising Complex Diagrams, which will allow you to maintain clarity no matter how complex your diagram is.
  • The above course includes a section on real-time collaboration on more complex diagrams.
  • For a clean view, we recommend leveraging our Layers functionality.
  • Finally, we also suggest creating a custom template and using it for each new version to prevent drift across projects.

I hope these tips are helpful! Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Cheers!
