Hello,

When attempting to delete a document, the warning message states:

“Any associated shortcuts to the items will be moved to the trash.”

So, what exactly are “associated shortcuts to the items”?

Thanks,

Smbat

Hi @smbatpetrosyan

Associated shortcuts - refer to links or shortcuts that direct users to a specific document or diagram. These shortcuts, created for quick access, are automatically managed when a document is deleted. Upon deletion, Lucidchart moves both the document and its associated shortcuts to the trash, eliminating broken links and orphaned shortcuts.

For instance, consider a main dashboard diagram with shortcuts to detailed process diagrams. If one of these process diagrams is deleted, its corresponding shortcut on the dashboard will also be moved to the trash.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

I’m looking to create a soft link or symbolic link or shortcut in a different folder to an original document without copying the document. I do see someone created such a link in our workspace, see below, but can’t find documentation on how to do it. I’m not referring to a hotlink or associated shortcut within a document. This is at the folder level as shown below, it even has a special arrow icon.

Please see this link if anyone is looking for shortcut at folder level.
