My organization is switching from Viso to Lucidchart. I tried the IOS app but it would never load the documents so when we had a training, they said that the app is not really ready and that I should use the browser.

I am using edge browser which is required by our organization. The document opens ok, it’s a little buggy if you zoom in it reloads every time but it does work.

The question I have is how to open the find function to search my document like the browser on my PC. There isn’t any menus to open for tools like that and the browser built in find and replace does not work at all.

Hi @twbarton1

Can you navigate to the below URL in your mobile, i tried from my phone and i able to find my docs as shown below:

https://lucid.app/documents#/documents?folder_id=home

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Thank you for the reply. I have no issue finding the document as I only have one. The issue I have is that when I open the document, I am unable to search while in the document.

To be more specific I have a Viso map I created to track device locations. Due to the 1000’s of devices I need to be able to search when I need to locate a particular device. This is easy on my desktop edge browser with ctrl-f but I am not able to find the search or like function on my mobile browser.

Hi @twbarton1

Thank you for contacting Lucid Support!

You can use the Find on Page function in the Microsoft Edge browser on your iPhone to search for specific content within your document. Here's how:

  1. Open your document in the Edge browser.
  2. Tap the three lines (☰) at the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Swipe through the menu options and select "Find on Page."
  4. Enter the keyword you want to search, and the browser will highlight all instances in your document.

Refer to the screenshots attached below for guidance. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thank you @ikalu for the reply but as mentioned above that function actually does not work. Keep in mind these are not work documents. they are maps with shapes and text. I would assume that since I can use ctrl-f in the desktop browser there is similar way to open find on the mobile browser?

The Find on page does not work in the desktop browser either.

Hi @twbarton1,

Thanks for following up! Since the "Find on Page" function in the Edge browser doesn’t work with your Lucidchart documents containing shapes and text, here is a workaround you can try:

Export the Document as a PDF

Lucidchart allows you to export your document as a PDF. Once exported, you can open the file on your iPhone in a PDF reader app that supports searching within documents (e.g., Adobe Acrobat or the built-in Files app).

  • To export:
    1. Open your document in Lucidchart.
    2. Tap the menu (☰) and select Download As > PDF.
    3. Open the PDF on your phone and use the search function in your PDF viewer.

If these workarounds aren’t ideal, I recommend submitting feedback for a built-in mobile search feature. We’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. Please first search the Product Feedback section of this community (with the filter Topic Type = Idea) to see if it’s already been submitted. If so, please add any additional details you’d like and upvote the request - this consolidation helps to refine feedback and properly capture the popularity of the request.

If no one has submitted this idea yet, please create one of your own and be sure to include details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience. This will also allow other users with similar requests to discover and upvote it, then add details of their own.
