I'm using a gantt template and am unable to delete or edit the circular shape status icon next to each task item. Lucidchart appears to not recognize them (I can't click/highlight the shapes). Do you know how this can be resolved?

Based on your description I believe the template you are using uses a conditional formatting rule to create those circles which is why you are not able to select them. You can disable this rule by opening the conditional formatting panel and selecting “Unapply” from the options (see screenshot). You can learn more about conditional formatting in the Conditional Formatting Help Center article.
