Hello

I have an employee reporting to (2) Managers and wish to reflect it on the org chart. I've searched the forum and found a post in 2020 about it however the instructions seem dated now as there is no "red circle' that appears when I hover over the employee.

Are the most recent instuctions?

Thanks!

Gary

Hi Gary

Thank you for posting in the Community! Unfortunately Lucidchart does not have a way to have one employee reporting to 2 managers within our Org Chart shapes. If you would like you can add this idea to our Product Feedback section. However you can draw a line from the employee to the additional manager. This will need to be done outside of the Org Chart editor (you can exit the Org Chart editor by pressing esc).

First hover over the employee shape until you see the red dot. Then drag the line to the additional manager.

Please Note: if you are not seeing the red dot please check that line connections are turned on in your page settings.

File> Page Settings> Line Settings.

If you are still running into trouble please let me know!

Hope this helps!

Totally helps and worked. Thank you!

Last question: how do I edit the Org Chart again?

Hi Gary

Thanks for follow up! I am so happy to hear that worked!

To edit your Org Chart double click on any of your Org Chart shapes. This will open the org chart contextual panel and allow you to edit your org chart shapes.

I dont see the red dots to connect the line and I did make sure page set up is right.

Hi @Cake Guy

Thank you for your reply! On the Org chart shapes the dots won’t appear to create a line. To add an additional line you will need to exit the Org Chart, and select a line from the contextual panel on the left. Once you select a line, you can connect it to an Org Chart shape.

Got it, thanks

@Cake Guy Of course, please let me know if you have any other questions.
