Trouble linking Jira issues together

I just recently discovered the Lucidspark JIRA integration that lets you import JIRA tickets into a timeline like view and even create JIRA tickets by converting your cards into JIRA cards.  This has been a great way to visualize large features and project velocity and identify potential issues, however, I noticed that while the UI lets me drag a connector between JIRA cards and set the type of linking between them (E.G. blocks), the connector disappears and I receive an error message about not having permission to create or change ticket linking.

This is odd to me, because I can go into JIRA and manually link the two tickets together just fine and see the change reflected on Lucidspark, so the issue seems to be between Lucidspark and JIRA.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?

It’s almost like my Lucidspark JIRA integration is missing the required linking scope, but if that were the case I’d expect to see more people posting about this issue...

Hi @PB_Savage Co. - thanks for reaching out about this. We discovered this bug on Friday and should be releasing a fix early this week. We apologize for the issue in the meantime and should have a fix out soon.

Hey @jkew - sorry to hear you’re running into issues here. Have you had a chance to try the instructions I linked above to resolve the issue? Let me know if you still are running into the problem after trying those steps!

Yeah. I just tried again and the feature now works (without any known changes on my end, but verifying I had the correct JIRA project permissions). I suspect this was a temporary bug in lucid chat, a bug in JIRA cloud, or something. Please add this functionality to some integration tests going forward.

@jkew glad to hear it is working now and we appreciate the feedback. I’ll discuss with our development team regarding additional opportunities for tests to ensure the functionality is consistently stable.

Please let me know if you run into any more issues or feedback!

@scowley I’m still having the problem, even after adding linked issues to the jira issue screen. I’m definitely able to create links inside of Jira, so that permission has been granted. Are there any other possible root causes?

Hi @Allison L

Thank you for the reply! Can you confirm that the  “Linked Issues” field has not been added to the Issue “screen” in Jira for that project/issue type?

@Kelsey Gaag I just double-checked the issue screen, and it’s there...

Hi @Allison L

Thank you for confirming. Do you receive any error messages while attempting to show linked issues? Does this issue persist in multiple boards? Can you provide a screenshot of the issue?

Hey @Allison L - thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear that the feature isn’t working correctly. Sometimes there can be some unique Jira configuration that can cause issues with the feature so I’m not confident in what the issue is without taking a closer look. I just sent you a DM to see if we can get a quick call set up and I can take a look there. Let me know if you have trouble seeing that message!

Thanks,

Spencer

Hi All,

I’ve been experiencing the issue where cards that used to let me link through drawing connections no longer allow it. If I sync new cards, then they work fine.

The interesting thing is if I right-click the shapes that only draw a normal black line and offer no linking, I don’t have the option to ‘Manually Sync With Jira’ whereas I do have the option with new shapes.

In my case anyway, this seems to be an issue with these shapes no longer being recognized as ‘Jira Cards’ in a way that prompts to create linking upon connection or allows me to manually resync them.

The shapes are still syncing things like Reporter, Assignee, etc.
