I have imported an SVG shape. It is a simple house symbol. I would like to be able to write text within the shape (as you can with the default shapes). Is there a way to achieve this?
Hi Daniel
Thanks for posting in the community! To achieve this I recommend taking the following steps:
1. Add your custom SVG house shape and a text box to the canvas.
2. Arrange your text box on top of the house shape and style as desired.
3. Left click and drag to select both shapes right click and select "Group". This will turn the text box and shape into a unit that move together.
4. Add this grouped shape to a Custom Shape Library. For more information on how to do this please take a look at our Access Organize and Share Shapes article.
Then each time you'd like to use this shape you can simply drag and drop from your Custom Library onto the canvas and the shape will have an editable text box by default! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
