Text labels on connectors cannot be accurately moved

I have used LucidChart for over 10 years. I have struggle with one unpleasant attribute of text labels on connectors. Even if I turn off ALL “snap-to” options, labels insist on being in certain fixed locations on their connectors, which often makes a complex state diagram virtually unreadable. I finally consulted the “Leo” AI agent on the Brave browser and he told me to use what he called the “Nudge” method, If you hold the Alt key (option key for Apples) the mouse can move the text label to anyplace on or around the connector. But when you are finished, unclick the mouse first, and then release the Alt key. Release the Alt key first and the text just snaps back to the same limited location on the connector. Another glitch in this method is that if you open the same chart without closing the prior instance, the new location of text label is not preserved. It snaps back to its original anchor point. I found that if I closed the document and reopened it, the desired change to the text label persisted. This method REALLY ought to be mentioned in the context of the “snap-to” features under the “View” menu.
