For labeling, I definitely recommend leaning into clear, plain-language labels over placeholder text, especially when non-technical teammates need to follow along. A few things that work really well:

• Use real stage names: Stick to actual workflow steps (e.g., "Lead → Qualified → Proposal") instead of generic labels so everyone can map it to their actual process.

• Add short annotations or notes: You can use text callouts or attach shape notes directly to objects to explain the logic behind complex steps without cluttering the canvas (see Lucid's guide on adding notes).

• Color-code by stage: This adds visual clarity and keeps the wireframe clean without overloading it with text.

• Make it interactive: If you want to demonstrate hover states or flow transitions for stakeholders, using Actions & Hotspots in Lucidchart helps non-technical folks see how the screen works.
