Swimlane title formatting and color fill

I am not talking about the section headers, which is what help and wider google searches keeps directing me to.

There is a facility to give a swimlane container a title. It’s there to the top left in grey. However, when I give my diagram a title it is shaded grey on a dark grey background and there is no obvious way to change that to something which meets accessibility guidelines.

As there is no help that I can find on this topic, I presume it is either a bug or by design. If there is a way to change the default, please let me know how and advise me of the search terms I should have used to find these instructions.

Hi @lma, thanks for posting in our Community!

Could you let us know whether this occurs with all swim lanes and whether you are using a template?

The color of the font and the background of the title can be adjusted in the panel at the top. For the title background specifically, you can select Line color and pick a different shade, as such:

Let us know if this helps! Cheers

Thank you for coming back to me. I am just using the default swimlane as found in the flowchart set of shapes, no templates.

Interested to discover that the background shading of the title is adjusted by setting the line colour, not the fill colour? When I do that, the lines on the swimlane all change too. I don’t understand why the two are connected. Surely the background colour is a fill, not a line, and it shouldn’t affect the rest of the shape?

How do I set a title for the diagram with no background whilst retaining the default colour lines around the swimlanes? My workaround is just to put a text box in position and group everything, which gets awkward.

Hi @lma, jumping in here too! As you mentioned, and @Zuzia S demonstrated, the background shading of the swim lane title is adjusted with line color, and matches the line color as shown below.

I apologize for any confusion here and any frustration this might cause. We’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’d like to leave feedback on this, I suggest creating an idea for the Product Feedback section of the community.

Additionally, I don’t believe this is exactly what you are looking for, but I’d like to mention one other option here in case it is useful for you. You can add a title to your swim lane and remove the line color to make the background of the title transparent. From the swim lane panel on the right, you can then adjust the color fill of the headers and lanes as shown below.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns!

Thank you for the additional hints. Sadly that option won’t conform to company style guidlines but appreciate you taking the time to reply.

For now, I have continued to add a separate text box containing the title.
