Simple Viewer in Confluence is broken

We are using the official Confluence integration plugin for embedding Lucidchart diagrams into Confluence pages. We usually use the Simple Viewer mode (see the picture below) because it automatically resizes the diagram to fit to the frame size.

 

However, the Simple Viewer stopped working since Monday, 11th May 2026. It keeps “LOADING”.

After switching to Rich Viewer, diagrams are displayed normally. But this is not our preferred viewer mode.

Viewer appears to be broken or unstable in Confluence Cloud right now.

Also, it includes some common workaround options you can try.

Thanks for your reply. We tried all workaround options, but they didn’t help. 

It keeps showing the LOADING status as in this screenshot.

@Katie S. I’d like to share that last time the Simple Viewer worked for me was on Friday, 8th May 2026, and stopped working on Monday, 11th May 2026. So, please ask the development team if they had any update between these days. Thank you!

Update 18/05 - Simple mode still not working. 

After having spent 5 minutes investigating I think there’s an issue with the simple preview generating a static image in an S3 bucket (HTTP 403 → I would check the bucket write permissions for the role generating the image). Please pass on to the devops team.
